Lakeview Urbanists Petitions and actions Alert!

From our friends at Lakeview Urbanists (LU):

Inner Lake Shore Drive Safety

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) presented a disappointing plan for Inner Lake Shore Drive that fails to meaningfully address pedestrian safety on the corridor at last month's ELVN meeting. They proposed adding signs and paint, but we know that isn't enough.

LU team developed their own designs to implement real safety measures like curb bumpouts and left turn traffic calming. See a visualization of our plan for ILSD below!

Stop Cubs Parking Lot Expansion

The Cubs plan to expand the Camry lot from 579 to 947 spaces, which would incentivize more driving and congestion especially on game days. At the East Lake View Neighbors (ELVN) meeting last week, nearly 50 members came to speak out against the Cubs' presentation on this expansion. They cut the public comment section short, but the Cubs will present at more community meetings soon, and we need to keep up the pressure against them.

What can you do?

Email your alderperson and the Cubs to oppose the parking lot expansion
