Cook county Assessor - Fritz Kaegi

Fritz Kaegi, unlike his opponent in this race, refused to bend the knee to the property tax appeal attorneys, real estate industry, Trump Tower lawyers and other moneyed interests that used to have direct access to gaming the old system to their advantage. Kaegi doesn’t take their money and he doesn’t do their bidding, and for that they want him out, and we want him to stay! Kaegi came into office as an independent reform candidate and he stayed true to his promise. The office of Cook County assessor existed to subsidize downtown commercial interests and well-connected landlords, leaving homeowners to foot the bill. Now, the same powerful moneyed interests want him out and to be replaced by a more pliable candidate. You can read all about the intrigue around this race in the Girl I Guess Guide.

See Fritz Kaegi’s campaign site for more information on his platform and his work.
